Shoot from the Heart is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that benefits the American Heart Association. This organization was founded by three brothers wanting to honor their late father.
Our father, Rolfe McCoy, had heart problems and several heart surgeries during his lifetime. We ultimately lost him to a heart attack. Being fathers ourselves, we realized that educating ourselves, our children, and the public about Heart Disease is the best prevention. Dad was an avid gun collector who loved the sport of shooting. We wanted to form an organization that would not only include our father's favorite past-time, but would also contribute to the fight against heart disease and stroke – America's leading causes of death and disability. Therefore, Shoot from the Heart was founded as a "Sporting Clay" skeet shoot in honor of his memory.
Since its inception in 2005, Shoot from the Heart has raised over $24,000 (combined) for the American Heart Association! Monies raised from the Shoot from the Heart event and other AHA initiatives have funded over a billion dollars in heart and stroke research in the past decade, benefiting people of all ages and walks of life.
